Quiet Time
"Quiet Time"
Oil on canvas 10" x 20" PRIVATE COLLECTION
This painting was created at the end of the Summer 2004. The glazing technique was used to produce the intricate brick details as well as the rough texture of the logs. The busy pattern of the red carpet combined with the textures of the brick wall and logs represent today's busy world. The serene reflection of the carpet in the log holder as well as the open book, bring us to a well deserved quiet time.
Note the texture of the pages where you could almost grab the corner of the page and continue on with your reading.

How Sweet
Oil on canvas 12" x 12" PRIVATE COLLECTION
This painting was created late spring 2004 while strawberries are at their best. The cream and sugar were added promptly to the generous serving of strawberries as though not to waste the freshness of the fruits.
Note the light playing on the gold trimmings of the vase and the transparency of the glass, the sugar and the drop of cream on the glass table... How Sweet.

Mom, can you make us some Pancakes please!
Oil on canvas 12" x 12" PRIVATE COLLECTION
If you would know the artist, you would also know her daughter Laura. There is no Alice without Laura, it is just that simple. You would also know that Laura and her friends just love to drop in on mom for pancakes on Sunday morning and nothing pleases Mom more than that.
This painting was also made using the glazing technique to capture the crisp paper bag, the transparency of the glass and egg yoke as well as the delicate craked egg shells. Also note the flour droped on the glass table and the subtlety of the reflections.
